How Can You Contribute To The Betterment Of Society?

Social Change:

The concept of social change many of us don’t even understand and take for granted. Change is always happening from time to time, so no society has ever remained the same. Sociologists define social change as social reform in human interactions and relationships that transform cultural and social institutions.

These changes occur over time and have positive and long-term consequences for society. Education has played a key role in shaping the character of an individual. Social change is nothing but an alteration in the social order of a society. As a result of industrialization, urbanization, and global education, every society has transformed to cope with the gradual changes.

Is Social Change Good For Society?

Social change eventually transforms cultural and social institutions, concepts, and rituals, which will impact society for the long haul.

The transformations are profound, and these changes are not necessarily good or bad. On the surface, we may not notice the social change; it can take years — even centuries of action to cause one change.

Contribution to Society:

Positive social change brings the improvement of human and social conditions and the betterment of society. These changes can occur at many levels, including individuals, families, communities, governments, and organizations.

But for overall positive social change, every capable individual must contribute from his income if he/she wishes his country to grow on the scale of the happiness index.

So to whom and how we can help to make our country the best livable place in the world?

How Can You Contribute To Society?

  • We can help people affected by the natural or man-made calamity.
  • We can help people who are socially, economically or otherwise affected by natural calamities.
  • We can deliver help to citizens or animals from the drought-affected area of India.
  • We can help citizens and youths who have become or probable to become addicted to drug or intoxicated substances.
  • We deliver proper help to the parts of India having inadequate medical facilities.
  • We can help in building school infrastructure for the students who belong to socially & economically backward classes.

Helping society is good for you and good for those who are living around your area. Whether you spend time on a local community project or donate clothes, giving something back can help you too.

If you want to help on a large scale, you must have a good network of volunteers, local support and funds to reach out to a large community.

But it will be quite difficult for any individual to have all these resources to cater for a large community. In this situation, we should explore local Non-for-Profit organizations to reach out to a large community.

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is a non-profit group of persons brought together in a legal association to help others and function independently of any government. NGOs are sometimes called civil societies, are organized on community, national and international levels to serve a social goal such as humanitarian causes or the environment.

Why Is It Important To Contribute To Society?

  • Non-Governmental Organizations or NGOs play a key role in national development, aid and philanthropy.
  • Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are non-profit by definition but may run and manage budgets of millions of rupees each year.
  • Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) rely on a variety of funding sources, from private donations and membership dues to government contribution.
  • If you actively work with any NGO, it will help you make a positive contribution to the growth and development of society. You can work for the cause you are most passionate about.
  • The skills that you have gained while working with an NGO can form a vital part of your resume. You can easily impress your employer with your skills. This experience will also make your application stand out from others.
  • Joining any NGO is like an investment in your future. You will develop professional skills to meet the demands of the role and the organisation. You get a chance to plan and design on both- a larger scale and for a longer period.
  • You get an opportunity to build your network with influential people and big companies. It gives you a chance to meet people with the same goals as you.
  • Working in an NGO will widen your perspective. It will have an impact on the way you pursue your objectives and make decisions. Working with an NGO can make a positive impact on your life.
  • Your work will be making a vital contribution towards a better tomorrow. It will bring self-motivation and a sense of satisfaction to do more.

So if you really want to help a large community, it is wise to become a member of an NGO, and ultimately you can donate to an NGO with the same goals as you.
