It is definitely not the place a person would think of spending their retirement days like this. People who are abandoned and homeless end up in such homes. There are many people who volunteer to help out the old people and the staff in government run homes. The private old age homes provide services for a certain fee. Proper care with good meals and affection is provided to the old people. The stay is free of cost for women who are abandoned and poor, but they also provided services that are chargeable to women who can afford it. Akshaya Trust<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This trust is located in Mudichur, Chennai. Senior citizens who are destitute, and who are abandoned by family members live here. At present there are 55 people living here with safe and good shelter, food to eat, clothing, medical care, lots of love and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4-jesus-the-way-trust-runs\"><\/span>4. Jesus the Way Trust\u00a0runs:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This old age home is also located in Chennai and is called \u201cCharu\u2019s home for elders\u201d that provides a peaceful environment to the destitute &amp; poor senior citizens. With high number of people coming in to stay, they are in constant need of donations like mattress, utensils, fan, chair, food, medical equipment, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5-ammucare-charitable-trust\"><\/span>5. Food, shelter, medical care is all provided at free of cost. They have around 40 senior citizens and many of them have been dropped off by police or their own family members<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7-abhinav-samaj\"><\/span>7. Abhinav Samaj:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An old age home in Delhi known as Jai Ma Durga which offers free food, shelter and medical assistance to destitute senior citizens. Seniors should be respected and cared for, but instead many are abandoned by their own family and children. 94 senior citizens were admitted in this old age home in one year. If by any unfortunate incident the senior member passes away, their last rituals are performed as per their customs and religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"8-wishes-and-blessings\"><\/span>8. HelpAge India<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In areas like Patiala and Gurdaspur in Punjab, Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu and Kolkata in West Bengal, HelpAge India offers old age homes for the elderly. They have 26 old age homes and 5 barrier homes for the senior citizens in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"10-omashram-trust\"><\/span>10. Omashram Trust<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A home created for the elderly which is away from home. They provide great respect to the elders, comfort, a safe homely atmosphere living there, and ensure to watch their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Paranjape Athashri<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the oldest old age homes located in Baner, Pune offers great amenities and is one of the largest old age homes in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"12-the-earth-savior-foundation\"><\/span>12. The Earth Savior Foundation:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A place that is recognized by the Indian government. They have rescued more than 15,000 senior citizens, homeless disabled people, and deprived females. They have shelters located in Bandhwari Village, Gurgaon, Haryana, and the other in Mandawar Village, Haryana.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"13-universal-elder-care\"><\/span>13.
